If you’ve never had Laser Hair Removal or Electrolysis you may have the impression that the procedures are pretty painful, but that’s really not the case at all. There is very minimal pain associated with, believe it or not, both!
The laser is nothing like the laser beam you’ve probably seen on Star Wars! The laser we have at Smooth Reflections has a sapphire cooling tip on the handle which glides along your skin to keep the area we are working on cool and comfortable. There’s a faint feeling of warmth, and that’s it! After the first pulse most clients can’t believe how mild the feeling is, and they relax immediately. And yes, some areas are more tender then others, but the settings are adjusted to accommodate.
Electrolysis is the same idea. The common misconception is that, the client is going to feel a lightening bolt of pain shooting into the area we are working on, but that is not the case at all!! A thin probe is inserted into the hair follicle, and a mild current is delivered, giving off a feeling of tingling warmth, then the hair is removed with a forcep (tweezer). Again, first-time clients are pleasantly surprised by the actual procedure.
