How Do I Prepare for My Laser Hair Removal Appointment?2020-02-07T15:25:11+00:00

Contrary to popular belief, you do not need to grow your hair out prior to your appointment.

In fact, we need you to come Clean Shaven the day of – or the night before – your treatment!

How Do I Prepare for My Electrolysis Appointment?2020-02-07T15:26:54+00:00

Prior to attending your electrolysis appointment we will need you to have some hair growth.

The minimum hair length needed is stubble length, or at least long enough to be able to grasp each hair with a tweezer.

Who Should Have Hair Removal Done?2020-02-07T15:27:45+00:00

Anyone bothered by hair!

The youngest age we suggest starting hair removal on should be at least 14yo.

Other then that, if you have unwanted hair of any kind, don’t wait- Hair removal is a great investment!

We have lots of clients that come in and say they wished they started the hair removal process sooner: People embarrassed by unwanted facial/body hair, people that never seem to be able to get a clean shave, people prone to in-grown hair and red bumps, people with thick dark hair that seems to grow back within hours of shaving, people that are sick of waxing, plucking, shaving, etc., transgender individuals, people with medical issues causing hair growth (hormonal, PCOS, thyroid, diabetes, skin flap transfers, etc) and anyone in between!

We keep your information confidential and you will be treated by the same technician on each visit.

How Long Will My Appointment Take?2020-02-07T15:28:31+00:00

Electrolysis is scheduled in 15 Minute intervals so your appointment will depend on how long you have scheduled.

Laser varies by body part.

For a small area (ex: lip, chin, underarms, basic bikini) you will be in and out of your appointment within 15-20min, assuming this is not your first appointment and all paperwork is completed. A medium area will take ~30 min (brazilian, lower legs, forearms, etc) and a larger area should take about 40-60 min (full legs, full back, etc).

Will I be red after my treatment?2020-02-07T15:29:45+00:00

Everyone reacts differently to laser hair removal.

For most clients any pinkish color will be gone within minutes so you can return to work or run errands immediately following your appointment.

Electrolysis may leave you red/pink for a bit longer. It depends on how long your treatment is and what area we are working on.

Some clients are back to normal skin color by the time they get home and others may stay pink for several hours.

If I have darker skin will laser still work for me?2020-02-07T15:30:07+00:00

We have both the NdYAG and the Alexandrite laser so we can work on all skin types!

How many treatments will I need?2020-02-07T15:30:29+00:00

The average number of treatments needed is 6-8 for laser hair removal.

Electrolysis is a bit trickier to assess. The number of treatments will depend on how thick each hair is, how much hair is being treated, how much hair is cleared in each visit, etc

How painful is laser or electrolysis?2020-02-07T15:31:15+00:00

I have to say that 95% of my clients are amazed at what little discomfort they experience during laser procedures!

They come in with their heads pinned against the table, bracing for the worst, and after the first pulse, they can’t believe “that’s it”.

The cleaner the shave you are able to get prior to the appointment the less discomfort you will generally have. That’s not to say that it will be excruciating otherwise, you just may feel a bit more of a pulse at times.

Electrolysis has been a similar experience.

People tend to expect it to be way worse then it actually is. We need a certain amount of current to be effective, but we can also adjust the settings if needed. If you know you are sensitive you can always ask your doctor for a numbing cream to apply prior to your appointment.

What if I have In-Grown Hairs, Cysts or Razor Burn? Can I still get laser?2020-02-07T15:31:39+00:00

Many of our clients have theses issues and yes you can still get laser!

In fact, you will see a lot of these issues resolve after only a couple of treatments!
